We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. It never decides what we post. How we make money

Privacy policy

Last updated October 10, 2026. Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

Who we are

ScoreDeals (scoredeals.net) is a deals and gift guide site run by Troy Harris. Questions about this policy or your information go to hello@scoredeals.net.

Browsing the site

You can read everything on ScoreDeals without an account. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages and deals are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you to other sites, and gives us totals, not a profile of you. Our hosting provider also receives basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, when it delivers pages to you.

Clicking a deal (affiliate links)

When you click “Get deal,” we record that the deal was clicked and when, so we can show what's popular. We don't record who clicked. You then go to the store, often through an affiliate link. The store or its affiliate network (for example Amazon Associates, Impact, or Rakuten Advertising) may set its own cookies so it knows the visit came from us and can pay us a commission if you buy. Those cookies are controlled by the store or network under their own privacy policies, not by us. We never receive your payment details or what else is in your cart. See How we make money.

Votes and dead-deal reports

When you vote on a deal or report one as dead, we set a cookie with a random ID so each browser gets one vote per deal, and we store a scrambled (hashed) version of that ID and of your network address to stop vote stuffing. We can't turn those back into your IP address. Votes and saved items are otherwise remembered in your own browser.

Accounts

If you create an account (to submit deals or earn Score Points), we collect your email address, the display name you choose, and your answers to our eligibility questions (that you're 18 or older and whether you live in the US). We keep the deals you submit and the points you earn. Signed-in members get a login cookie. Your display name is public: it appears on the leaderboard and as “Found by” on deals you submit. Your email address is never shown publicly or sold. We use it to sign you in and, if you win a drawing, to contact you.

Your savings tracker

If you're signed in and tap “Bought it” on a deal, we save which deal you marked, when, and how much you saved (the regular price minus the deal price), so your account page can add up your savings. We don't know whether you actually bought anything; it's your own record. It's private unless you choose to show your display name and savings on the public Top Savers board, and you can hide it again or remove any deal at any time. Other visitors only ever see a total count, like “12 grabbed this.”

The Daily Score email

If you sign up for The Daily Score, we keep your email address, the hubs you picked, and when you signed up, confirmed, and were last sent an email. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you. Every email has a link to change your hubs or unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.

Who helps us run the site

We use a few service providers. They handle information only to provide their service to us:

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account exists, and email sign-up information until you unsubscribe and ask us to delete it. Click counts and hashed vote records are kept to run the site and aren't tied to your name.

Your choices

Children

ScoreDeals is meant for adults. Accounts are for people 18 and older, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For bigger changes, we'll also tell Daily Score subscribers.
